25th Annual Conference of the USCPFA

On Friday September 11, 2015, the 25th National Conference of US-China People Friendship Association(USCPFA), co-hosted by the Confucius Institute at Georgia State University, took place at Emory University Conference Center Hotel, in Atlanta.

Over 100 representatives from the US-China People Friendship Association attended the conference, including Diana Greer, the Chairman of USCPFA, Peggy Roney, the Chairman of the US Southern Branch of USCPFA and Zhao Yumin, the Deputy Consul General of Houston Consulate of People’s Republic of China, along with distinguished guests from Georgia State University, Confucius Institute teachers, staff and volunteers.

Zhao Yumin, the Deputy Consul General of Houston Consulate of People’s Republic of China gave an informative speech about how to enhance the friendship between the US and China. He mentioned that the conference creates a friendly atmosphere for collaboration between the two countries before the visit of Xi Jinping, the President of the People’s Republic of China, to the US next month.


Next, Kimberly Griffin, the Deputy Director of the Confucius Institute at GSU delivered a speech on behalf of Dr. Jun Liu, the Associate Provost for International Initiatives and Director of the CI at GSU.


Professor Penelope Prime from Robinson College of Business at Georgia State University followed Ms. Griffin and gave the keynote speech on ‘Building on 40 years of friendship’ at the conference by presenting over 30 old photos of China. After that, Professor Penelope answered several questions from the interested audience.


During the reception and dinner, the dialogues and conversations continued among the guests, which highlighted the 25th National Conference of the US-China People Friendship Association.
